Growing the Game

Competitions

Youth and middle school competitions are co-ed and run by local youth organizations. There is St. Louis Youth Rugby on the East side of the state, which operates youth and middle school touch and flag rugby in the spring. In Kansas City, there is Mid-America Youth Rugby, which offers youth and middle school touch and flag rugby during the summer.

High school girls play a 7-on-7 season in the fall, leading to the official Missouri Youth Rugby Girls State Championship. The schedule consists of a series of one-day tournaments in September and October, which seed the State Championship. In the spring, players who play against one another in 7s come together to form 15s teams and play one-off test matches.

Currently, all of the Girls HS rugby in the state of Missouri resides in the Kansas City area.
